Frequently asked questions
If you cannot find your question here, please feel free to send me an email and I will do my best to answer it for you.
Is it a nude project?
Yes, but your portrait can be shot in such a way as to keep your identity hidden.
Who can participate?
The project is open to women over 18 regardless of age, body type, weight, etc.
What does it cost?
The project is free, but for your time you’ll receive a disc with high res images for your own personal use. If you use the images online, you need to accompany each with a photo credit and link to the imperfect project website.
How does the shoot work?
The shoot will take place in my studio and takes about an hour.
During the shoot I will photography you against a white set as well as a black set in order to get a range of picture styles.
What happens to the images you take?
In order to participate, you will be asked to sign a model release giving me permission to use the images as part of the Imperfect Project website. I also have plans to put together a book and an exhibition once I have built up a body of work.
After the shoot I will select some of my favourite images and send them to you electronically as a thank you for letting me shoot your portrait.
What if I don’t want you to use my images for display?
The project is about your willingness to be involved in the project and to share your images and stories in a public way in order for others to hopefully be inspired to do the same or to feel better about their own body. As i mentioned earlier, you can choose to hide your identity, but if you definitely do not want your pictures used for the purposes of the project, it may not be the right project for you.
